Pushmataha Hospital Swing Bed Program is a hospital-based skilled-care program designed to help you if you are no longer in need of acute care in a hospital, but still need more rehabilitation before you return home.

Even if you have received inpatient care or surgery at another hospital, you can choose Pushmataha Hospital for swing bed care.

Stays are anticipated to be short-term and can be utilized for a variety of conditions including, but not limited to:

  • Extended antibiotic therapy
  • Heart disease
  • Joint replacement and other surgeries
  • Newly diagnosed diabetics
  • Respiratory diseases
  • Stroke
  • Other debilitating conditions
Our swing bed program is geared toward patients on Medicare, as this is a covered benefit. However, we can accommodate people of all ages, as some insurance companies may also cover this service.

Arranging a stay

Anyone (family, parents or hospital staff) may contact the Pushmataha Hospital regarding our swing bed program. Patients currently at another hospital can ask to coordinate a transfer to Pushmataha Hospital swing bed program.

Patients need a physician's referral to be eligible for our swing bed program. Patients must also have a three-night qualifying stay in a hospital setting to be Medicare eligible.
